ELIGIBILITY - The call for submissions is open to all artists, working in any media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, performance, video, film, audio, and digital/ graphic art are eligible for review. The Juror is interested in seeing each artist’s perspective on the theme and how they develop these interpretations.
JUROR - Roxanne Jackson is a ceramic artist and mixed-media sculptor living in Brooklyn, NY. Her macabre works are black-humored investigations of the links between transformation, myth, and kitsch.
Jackson is the cofounder of NASTY WOMEN, a national/international art exhibition and fundraising project; and Heather Metal Parking Lot, a nocturnal outdoor heavy metal party, held each summer at the Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY.
Her work has been exhibited in New York at SPRING/BREAK Art Show, The Hole, Honey Ramka, Lu Magnus, Denny Gallery, Zürcher Gallery, Orgy Park, Regina Rex, Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, The Lodge Gallery, 99 Cent Plus Gallery, the Parlour Bushwick, BAM, English Kills, Elijiah Wheat Showroom, the Knockdown Center, BRIC, and Airplane Gallery, as well as at the Satellite Art Show in Miami Beach, FL; the Mütter Museum in Philadelphia, PA; the Minneapolis Institute of Art in Minneapolis, MN, and more. She has shown in China, Portugal, Romania, Canada, and cities such as Mexico City, London, Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Brussels and Leipzig.
She has been an artist in residence at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Socrates Sculpture Park, the Wassaic Project, the Ceramic Center of Berlin, Hunter College, Chashama/chaNorth, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Oregon College of Art and Craft, and the Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China, funded by an NCECA International Residency Fellowship.
Press for her work has appeared in The Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, The New York Times, Gothamist, Sculpture Center Curators’ Notebook, Beautiful/Decay, ArtSlant, Brooklyn Magazine, Whitehot Magazine, The L Magazine, Eyes Towards the Dove, Ceramics Monthly, Ceramics Ireland, and New Ceramics, among others.
NOTIFICATION - Artists will be notified of acceptance or decline no later than Friday, August 31st. Notifications will be made via e-mail. Accepted works must be received by Monday, September 10th. Accepted artists will be contacted with details for artwork delivery.
COMMISSION - There will be a 40% commission on any sales made during this exhibition or from the gallery’s website.
ENTRY FEE - There is a non-refundable, $20 entry fee for up to three artworks.

-A $20 submission fee is required for up to 3 separate works. Each piece has its own “application” in ArtCall.
-Select to pay for 3 “applications” (You will only be paying $20 ONCE). You can always opt to not fill out the other two applications.
